For sale from the collection of sportswriter and Hall Of Fame inductee Bill Madden is a leather bound Yankees Encyclopedia Volume 3, 1987 edition signed by 29 Yankees and HOFers. Winner of the 2010 J.G. Taylor Spink Award, HOF inductee, MLB and NY Yankees sportswriter, best selling author of "Steinbrenner" and author of other sports books. The personal collection of Madden has autographs acquired by him during his HOF induction in 1987 as stated by him in a letter of provenance written from the personal notepad of his New York Daily Post desk and provided photos. The encyclopedia is autographed by Madden himself on his J.G. Taylor Spink Award media sticker and has autographs from Yankee greats like Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter, Catfish Hunter, Don Mattingly, Whitey Ford, Buckey Dent, Tom Tresh, Phil Rizzuto, Ron Guidrey, Bobby Murer, Goose Gossage, Joe Peppitone, Mel Stottlemeyer, Luis Arroyo, Hank Bauer and more. The book will be acxompanied by the letters of provenance from Bill himself and can easily be verified for authentication through JSA or any other professional authentication organization. There are also personal newspaper clippings from Madden inside. Not for sale in this auction are 13 autographed baseballs by HOF Yankee players that will also be for sale. Autographs/signatures on game used American League MLB baseballs by Willie Mays, Wade Boggs, Al Kaline, Alex Rodriguez, Yogi Berra, Carl Yastrzemski, Lou Brock, Harmon Killabrew, Reggie Jackson, Louis Apparicio, Jason Giambi, Willie McCovey and a Frank Robinson commemorative baseball with a facsimile signature.I also have a Willie Mays signed plaque, Greg Nettles signed historic photograph from NY Post Vault with stamp of authentication from Nettles stretch out catch made at 3rd base during the World Series in 1965.
