Hello there and thank you for your interest in my listed item: VTG The Diary Of Samuel Pepys 1929 Collins Clear-Type Press London and Glasgow Leather The information provided regarding the date comes from hours of online searching as there is no visible publishing date that I could find. This was a gifted book to my 81-year-old mother from a friend who passed away many years ago. My mother has been the owner of this book for 20+ years herself. Many of the books given to her by this particular friend were from the 1920's A pocket size book of The Diary of Samuel Pepys, leather bound in blue with gold lettering on the spine and a design. Edited and a preface written by Braybrooke in 1825. Pepys was born in 1633 died in 1703. The diary begins on 1st January 1660 and describes the social life at the time of the restoration. Take advantage of eBay's photo enlargement feature for a detailed view of this vintage book. I took pictures of the front back & spine of this book and from several pages within. No writing, markings, dog eared pages anywhere within the book. Considering the age, the book is in excellent condition but please take your time looking at all the photos to judge for yourself. It still has the protective clear cover, now worn with age, over the leather cover although a little is missing (see photos) The pages are in excellent condition. I don't know that this book was ever even read. It would not appear so. No dog-eared pages and no rips or tears to the pages that I could see. The book measures 4x6 inches and is 640 pages long. It has been kept safely within the little case that came with it all these years. All of the pages are despite a minor amount of yellowing are all clearly legible.
