NIP & TUCK is a collection of hunting tales of grouse, woodcock, pheasant and other upland game with his two beloved pointing dogs (Nip & Tuck,) along the Mississippi Flyway. MY DOG LEMON is the story of a beautiful pointing dog which lacked scenting ability, to which a doctor found a solution to the problem. ************************************ Illustrated throughout with numerous black and white drawing by Art Fuller ( NIP & TUCK, ) and Wesley Dennis ( MY DOG LEMON, ) along with black and white photographs by the Holland boys (Bob, Ray Jr., and Dan.) *************************** Beautiful BROWN leather binding ************************** THE BOOK AND SLIPCASE ARE IN VERY FINE CONDITION. ************************* A DELUXE LIMITED EDITION OF #117/450 COPIES. ************************** 6 1/4" by 9 1/4". -edited by Jim Casada -leather binding -sturdy linen slipcase. 0274 pages. ************************************** Raymond Prunty Holland was a "pointing dog man", who hunted all along the Mississippi Flyway. He was the editor-in-chief of Field and Stream, were he created a stable of writers that included Havilah Babcock, Archibald Rutledge, and John Taintor Foote. Along with Nash Buckingham he played a major role in promoting waterfowl hunting regulations and stressing the importance of conserving waterfowl for future generations. At heart Holland was a simple man, who always enjoyed being afield with his dogs, sons and friends. That simple nature shines through in NIP & TUCK, named for two of his favorite gun dogs. It captures that special bond between man and his dogs. We follow Nip and Tuck from the time they were whelped along the rollicking road of puppyhood to their bird-flinging days as adults. Holland's love for dogs runs as a common thread through all thirteen stories, though each stand on its own. MY DOG LEMON is collection of four stories of a dog which lacked scenting ability and the manner in which a Connecticut doctor found a solution to the dogs problem. One of the most popular of all fictional works about dogs, this enduring tale ranks along side Corey Ford's THE ROAD TO TINKHAMTOWN and John Taintor Ford's immortal canine classics. Ray Holland writes in a relaxed fashion which is the hallmark of great storytellers. His stories have a timeless quality, and readers of the modern generation who have not made Holland's acquaintance have a treat in store. His prose wears well, like a comfortable old slipper. These are the sort of tales one likes to have close at hand, by the bedside or easy chair. They are bound to give any fan of bird dogs, any lover of stalwart points and scintillating retrievers, an ample measure of pleasure, enjoy. ************************* THIS SERIES WAS SHORT LIVED AND THE TITLES ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND, I HAVE FOUR OF THEM UP FOR SALE. An absolutely beautiful signed volume from on of our greats. Already on the shelf in my law office library. Carefully packaged and rapid shipping with reasonable price and just as described. I was honored to see Professor Gould as a guest lecturer while an undergraduate at Auburn and he was as amazing live and I have always wanted this first edition in my library.

Item was received as described. The packaging was excellent. Shipping cost was overpriced. I paid $12 for shipping. It took a week to receive because it was sent via media mail. The media mail label said it only cost $7.50. Nowhere in the listing did it say shipping was media mail. Where did the rest of my shipping payment go?
