Description
ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA 15th Edition 1974, 30 Volume Gilded First Edition Heirloom Set Bound in Padded Black Leather: Macropedia Vol 1-19 Micropedia Vol 1-10 Propedia (1 Volume) One family ownership since new in 1974. Lightly used by our daughters when they were in High School (long before teachers had software to identify plagiarization). The set was shelved on "no sunlight" home library bookshelves for 26 years, and then carefully stored in the original factory shipping boxes in a closet for the last 25 years. There is still a great deal of relevent reading information in each volume, in this age of the internet, and the set looks great in a home library or office bookcase (almost 4.5 feet of leather-padded gilded volumes to fill that gap in your shelves). Overall Excellent Condition: No sun damage, No highlighting/markings, and No "old book" smells. A few volumes have very light shelf wear on the bottoms. The set has always been in a smoke-free, pet-free, bug-free home. Please view all photos and zoom in as they are an important part of the description! I included a variety of photos to show different angles and lighting. C ontact me if you have any questions or would like additional pictures. Price Prices for Encyclopedia sets are all over the place on eBay and Craigslist mostly based on condition. Single volumes of this same set have sold recently on eBay for $15-$18 plus shipping. You can have this excellent 30 volume set for an average price of only $6.67 per volume (about the price of many magazines on the magazine rack at book stores). Shipping I chose to list this set as "Local Pickup Only" (Albuquerque, New Mexico) because of the weight, size, and prohibitive shipping cost of the three fully-loaded factory boxes.
