Very good + copies of Vol 76 (last half of 1819) and 77 (first half of 1820) of this notable journal, covering a broad variety of news of the period Both volumes are 1/2 leather with raised bands and gilt titles and ruling on their spines and marbled boards Bindings and boards are similar but not matching (see photos) Vol 76 appears to have been more recently updated, with newer leather and new endpapers Both volumes have minor scuffing and edge wear on the boards, and Vol 77 has a small chip missing on its front board However, both bindings are otherwise tight and sound Vol 77 has the bookplate on the front pastedown of William Bedford and what look like a child's pencil scrawling on the ffep, but there are no other marks or damage to the contents of either volume The text of both volumes is remarkably clean and bright for their age It is uncommon to find volumes of this magazine in such good condition 568, 568 + indices pp. Very Good+.
