Very good. First edition. A collection of Krohg's artwork, journalism and other writings, edited by Johan Borgen. N.B.: The text is in Norwegian. Christian Krohg [1852-1925] was a Norwegian painter, illustrator, author and journalist. He was a leading figure in the transition from romanticism to naturalism which characterized this period of Norwegian art. He chose subjects from everyday life and was well known for his paintings of prostitutes. His 1886 novel "Albertine" was about a prostitute and caused a scandal when it was published. Krohg was the founding editor of the journal "Impressionisten" in 1886 and was a journalist for the Oslo newspaper "Verdens Gang" from 1890 to 1910, for which he wrote remarkable portrait interviews. The item arrived timely and was as described. The packaging was great as this was an older book and needed protective shipping. Thank you Siberiandogs for your great service!
