Appleton started publishing the American Version of London’s ART JOURNAL in 1875. This is volume 3 from 1877 Containing a variety of engravings featuring art of the day including a Landseer engraving of two children. Articles include coverage of various art exhibitions, including the Philadelphia Spring Show, various international and ethnic approaches, art criticism and general commentary. Looks complete in very good condition with some scuffing to the edges of the leather binding. Corners show wear to all four. Spine is solid and intact. Some foxing and evidence of handling. White moire endpapers. Engravings have tissue overlays. Spots on endpapers. Please do not hesitate to email with questions or for more pictures.
