He was the last son of Antoine Boudet and Jeanne Joban married on January 8, 1705. His father, a Lyon merchant-bookseller, established rue Mercière “A la Croix d'Or”, had joined the Society of Booksellers; he was a Brother of the Trinity. Boudet the father died at the age of 62 on August 24, 1719. The inventory of his bookstore collection took place on August 29, 1719. His widow must have succeeded him: in 1725 "Jeanne Joban, widow of Antoine Boudet, bookseller in Lyon", filed a petition for theft of books against a boy boutique. Her second marriage was to the Parisian Jean Baptiste III Coignard, ordinary printer to the King and the Academy since August 11, 1717. Her children from her first marriage were Claude (Oct. 7, 1705), Jeanne (Oct. 2, 1706), Marie (July 14, 1708), Claudine (Oct. 9, 1710), Elisabeth (Feb. 4, 1714) - who married on November 25, 1732, Pierre Gilles Le Mercier, printer-bookseller in Paris, and succeeded him as bookseller at his death, December 28, 1773 - and Antoine Chrétien (June 7, 1715). This volume only. Gorgeous book with fantastic content. This book was intended for Parisians to follow the news coming from England’s issues with the thirteen colonies. Great insets with inventions, insects, and architecture. RAREF1760CJMA - 11/20 COLH1760JCKB - 11/24 - HKREV253
